Promotion in the United States and Canada

The Costa Brava promotes wine tourism in Washington and Toronto.


APRIL 2025

Promotional events were held on March 28 in Washington (United States) and April 1 in Toronto (Canada) as part of a joint initiative between the Catalan Tourist Agency of the Government of Catalonia, the Costa Daurada Tourist Board, and the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. The aim was to promote the region's wine tourism destinations in the North American and Canadian markets, taking advantage of Catalonia's recognition as a World Gastronomy Region and the air links between countries.

Forty-five travel agents and around thirty media outlets and digital content creators from each country participated in these events held in Washington and Toronto, along with representatives from the three tourism entities and brands. The event featured the participation of sommelier Clara Antúnez from the food and wine experience company La Gastronòmica, who led a guided tasting of wines from the DO Empordà and the Costa Daurada designations of origin.

This is the second promotional mission carried out in Canada. The first was in May 2024 in Montreal, which led to a trip by Canadian journalists to the destination last October, as well as various collaborations with travel agencies.
