Promotion in Sweden

The generic Costa Brava offering is being promoted to Swedish tour operators, travel agents, and key travel agency influencers.


On 14 May, the Tourism Board hosted the promotional trade event “Afterwork Costa Brava & Girona Pyrenees” in Stockholm, targeting twenty selected travel agents and travel tourism journalists. The objective was to promote the generic tourist offering of the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees to Sweden’s travel trade market.

The event featured a presentation of the destination and the latest news regarding new facilities, establishments and tourism experiences in the region, followed by meetings and a networking session with the participation of nine Girona-based organisations and companies: Park Hotel San Jorge by Escampa Hotels, Evenia Hotels, Boutique Villas by Corredor Mató, Peralada Resort, La Costa Beach & Golf Resort, Hotel Zel Costa Brava - Meliá Lloret de Mar, Trek and Ride, Lloret Turisme and L’Escala-Empúries Tourist Office.

Among the attendees there were representatives from agencies such as Globetrotter, Memora Travel, Apollo, Wonderland Event and Globalrunners. Agents showed particular interest in learning about the destinations’ offerings for family tourism, MICE and sports stays and broad interest in the gourmet wine and food, culture and outdoor activity programs.

The event generated over ten interviews per participating company and concluded with a gastronomic dining experience for attendees, prepared by the culinary collective La Cuina de l’Empordanet.
