Olympic athlete Joel Gonzalez becomes the newest Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees ambassador

Figueres-native and taekwondo athlete Joel Gonzalez Bonilla, who picked up a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and was Olympic champion at the 2012 London Games, double European champion in 2010 and 2012 and double world champion in 2009 and 2011, will promote the region on his sports material and equipment for a year starting in July. The collaboration between the elite athlete and the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board aims to raise awareness and contribute to the promotion of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brands in order to increase their visibility and strengthen their position on an international level.
