Incorporating and positioning high-end products in the luxury market

In line with its strategy for product and market segmentation, in 2013 the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board took part in international fairs and workshops devoted to luxury products with the goal of showcasing and promoting the high-end tourism offering, fine dining and complementary services of the Girona area.

In May it took part in the ILTM Asia in Shanghai, where Asian press outlets and tour operators expressed an interest in the destination as a component of a visit to the city of Barcelona. At the end of November, meetings were held with representatives of India's main wholesale travel agencies in two workshops that took place in New Delhi and Mumbai, attended by 90 and 80 travel agents, respectively. Finally, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board took part together with Costa Brava Hotels de Luxe in the International Luxury Travel Market in Cannes (France) from 2nd to 5th December.

In line with the work carried out over the course of 2013, in 2014 the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board plans to create the Premium product marketing club in order to promote the products of the specific high-end offering of the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees in a well-planned and structured manner.
