Girona Pyrenees Workshop

Ninety travel agencies in Cartagena and Alicante learn about the tourist attractions of the Girona Pyrenees

To help tourist accommodation businesses and ski resorts in the Girona Pyrenees to attract visitors from eastern Spain, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board organised workshops in Cartagena and Alicante on the 1 and 2 of October, respectively. The workshops, at which travel agents and representatives from Girona province were able to to meet and exchange views, followed a presentation on the destination to market the options for winter sports and active and nature tourism in the Girona Pyrenees in winter 2014-2015. The Cartagena event was attended by forty travel agents and twenty-two journalists and bloggers, while fifty travel agents and eight journalists attended the Alicante workshop. Ten organisations and businesses from Girona province took part, presenting their products to the travel agents and exchanging information on the customer profile they hope to attract, prices, etc. The two events closed with a gourmet meal provided by the Michelin-starred Fonda Xesc restaurant in Gombrèn.
