G! Awards
The province of Girona’s tourism sector attends the gala ceremony for the fourteenth Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards.

On 13th February the fourteenth Girona Counties G! Tourism Communication Awards ceremony took place at the Auditori de l’Ateneu in Banyoles, with a 250-strong audience which included authorities, award winners and representatives from the Girona tourism sector. Honorary prizes were awarded to hotel entrepreneur Filippo Rigat i Tortorici and to associations Petits Grans Hotels de Catalunya and Cuina Volcànica de la Garrotxa. The G! Communication Awards were given for work published and broadcast in the National Geographic Traveler magazine, in the Israeli digital newspaper and magazine Israel Hayom and Jewish Traveler, in the United States programme Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi and in the Journalist on the Run travel blog. Finally, the Yvette Barbaza Research Award went to the research project entitled Rice cuisine in the Costa Brava destination. A culinary and cultural ethnography.
