France’s Association des Journalistes de Tourisme meets on the Costa Brava

Sixty-five French journalists specialised in tourism visit the Costa Brava to take part in the annual assembly of the Association des Journalistes de Tourisme

MARCH 2014

From 17th to 20th November the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, together with the Catalan Tourism Agency, the Spanish Tourism Office in Paris and Lloret Turisme hosted the general assembly of the AJT (Association de Journalistes Touristiques) on the Costa Brava, an event that is held every other year outside France.

This promotional initiative was conceived with two goals in mind: on the one hand, to host a large-scale event to bring the "L'Année de la Catalogne en France" campaign to a fitting close and, on the other hand, to boost conference tourism in Lloret de Mar and organise press and incentive trips on the Costa Brava for a group of sixty-five French journalists from specialised tourism media outlets. The media outlets that participated in the initiative included publications such as Le Quotidien du Tourisme, Meet and Travel Mag, Le Monde du Camping-Car, I-Voyages, Trek Magazine, L’Echo Touristique, Pleine Vie, Hôtel & Lodge, Voyages d’Affaires, Paris Turf, Golf Européen, TourMag.com, Infotravel.fr, Votre Beauté, etc.

The AJT congress took place throughout the day on Friday 18th November, at the Gran Hotel Guitart Monterrey while the rest of the weekend was filled with four programmes aimed at familiarising the participants with the Costa Brava destination from different perspectives:

1.    The panoramic Costa Brava

2.    The Costa Brava, land of geniuses (Dalí triangle)

3.    The Food & Wine Costa Brava

4.    The Costa Brava on foot. Coastal footpaths and Nordic walking
