DO Empordà Wine Route
Nine wines produced by members of the DO Empordà Wine Route are awarded the gold medal in the Grenaches du Monde international competition

DO Empordà picked up the most gold medals in this international competition, which brings together several Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian and Greek wineries that exclusively produce wines with Garnacha grapes.
DO Empordà wines made a strong showing at the fourth Granaches du Monde international competition, held in Zaragoza on 5 February and organised by the Interprofessional Council of the Wines of Roussillon (CIVR) and the DO Campo de Borja, winning nine gold, six silver and three bronze medals.
These stellar results and the awards won by Empordà wines enhance their prestige and position in the wine industry’s highly competitive market, as well as stimulate consumer and wine lover interest in the region and boost wine tourism on the DO Empordà Wine Route.
