Record attendance at summer festivals throughout the Girona region, with attendance rates averaging between 80% and 95.7%.

A range of 70 different festivals were celebrated in Girona in the first part of 2016, enhancing the destination’s reputation as a culturally vibrant region. Most festivals were promoted under the Costa Brava Girona Festivals brand, where promotion on programmes and posters increased. The Girona festivals that recorded the highest attendance rate include: The Cap Roig Festival, with 40,011 tickets sold and 95.7% attendance, the Castell de Peralada Festival with 25,600 festival-goers and attendance averaging 91% capacity, the Estartit Jazz Festival, with almost 5,000 attendees and a 90% attendance rate, the 15th edition of the Black Music Festival in Girona, with attendance averaging 80% capacity, the STRENS Festival with 85% and Girona’s A Cappella Festival, which drew in over 10,000 fans. The region’s festival calendar extends to the end of the year with range of events including Acústica and the Girona Jazz Festival for music fans, festivals for film buffs like the Girona Film Festival, and Temporada Alta and the FITAG for theatre enthusiasts.
