Boosting wine tourism

In April there will be 55 activities and events linked to wine tourism in the Costa Brava, as part of the Vívid Wine Festival.

More than fifty activities and promotional events will take place in the Alt Empordà and Baix Empordà regions during the month of April as part of the first Vívid Wine Festival, developed by Girona Provincial Council’s DO Empordà Wine Route Club to promote wine tourism in the Costa Brava. Cooperativa Espolla.RogerLleixà The programme of activities includes: a talk given in the dome of the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres by sommelier Josep Roca of the El Celler de Can Roca restaurant; introductory courses and guided tasting sessions; cookery and wine workshops; open days; theatrical performances combining music and poetry with wine; wine therapy treatments; vinibus (wine bus) tours; outdoor activities, including wine based hiking and kayaking excursions; and a seminar for professionals from the world of wine and tourism, “Winetourism Brand”. The Vívid Wine Festival is an initiative intended to boost the local economy and promote the region. It is organised by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board with the support and involvement of the DO Empordà Regulatory Council, wine producers, local councils and tourism companies in the region.
