Professionals from the Girona tourism sector exchange views and explore the tourism strategies of Provence

Six representatives of Costa Brava tourism sub-sectors (hotels, campsites, rural tourism establishments, nautical activity resorts) and of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board travelled to Provence to see at first hand the marketing, promotional and sales strategies employed by the French region for its tourism products and destinations.

The aim of the initiative was to explore destinations similar to the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees that offer tourism products comparable to those of the Girona area. In addition to finding out on the ground about the marketing, promotional and sales strategies of products and destinations, the goal is also to stimulate exchange between French and Catalan tourism professionals. The schedule of professional visits included meetings with senior tourism officials in Les Baux-de-Provence and Marseilles, and with representatives of the FlyProvence promotional platform, various accommodation establishments and campsites, and the Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer nautical resort. There was also a visit to the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Var to find out about the Route des Vins de Provence, similar to the DO Empordà Wine Route.
