Rumbo and the Patronat join forces to boost tourism in the destination through the Rumbo.es and Viajar.com portals
The Patronat de Turisme and Rumbo, Spain's leading online travel agency, are developing a set of experiential tourism products exclusive to the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona aimed at increasing and diversifying the destination's tourism offer.
The agreement, presented on 12th April to ninety representatives of the Girona business sector, is aimed at increasing the number of sales and overnight stays in the Girona area by means of creating products and selling them through the leading platforms (Rumbo.es and Viajar.com), as well as at improving both the online ranking of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brands and the social networks managed by Rumbo.
What is new about this agreement is that it contemplates creating new online content (videos, photos, comments) and holding meetings with companies and institutions of the sector, bloggers, social travellers, community managers and marketing and communication experts. The goal of this initiative, entitled social trip, is to provide an enriching space for the exchange of ideas and experiences between the various actors involved.
For the Patronat de Turisme, the alliance with Rumbo represents an important step forward in its own strategy to improve the ranking of Girona's tourism offer on the Internet, a medium used with increasing frequency by travellers to book their holidays and breaks. It also provides businesses from the Girona area with a new tool to help them sell their products and increase their profits by using a broad distribution network.
