Advertising campaign on Eurosport for the Olympic Games

The Eurosport channel broadcasts images of the Costa Brava during the London 2012 Olympics

MARCH 2014

Two 20-second adverts were broadcast during Eurosport's coverage of the Olympics from 27th July to 12th August as part of the "Catalonia, I like to share" campaign of the Government of Catalonia for the 2012 summer season, which mainly involves images of the Costa Brava.

Eurosport broadcast a general advert containing aerial images of the destination taken from the promotional video produced by the Patronat de Turisme, The essence of the Mediterranean, to the soundtrack of T’espero (Waiting for you in Catalonia), composed by Marc Parrot and performed by the singer Beth. A second more specific advert was also broadcast, featuring active tourism activities in the destination (hiking, sailing, golf, skydiving, etc.).

The Eurosport campaign, fully funded by the Government of Catalonia through the Catalan Tourism Agency and supported by the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, was aimed at strengthening the Catalan destination within the European market.

The scope of the Olympics and the European reach of the Eurosport channel (59 countries in 20 languages, with 18 million average daily viewers) make it possible to reach on a massive scale a very large audience with an interest in spending their holidays in Catalonia.
