MARCH 2014

The Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona has participated in the Active-Nature and Snow Workshop 2010, a commercial and promotional event held by the Catalan Tourism Agency on 19th October in Palma de Mallorca and on 20th October in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The aim of the event is to present and market the inland, mountain and ski tourism products of the Catalan Pyrenees to travel agents of the Balearic and Canary Islands, mainly for the 2010-2011 season.

The workshops, held first of all at the Hotel Nixe in Palma de Mallorca and then at the Hotel Santa Catalina in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, brought together 22 businesspeople from the public and private Catalan tourism sector and 40 travel agencies specialised in active, nature and ski products with the intention of facilitating contact and unveiling new product features for the current season.

The Patronat de Turisme, with the support of the Vall de Núria mountain resort, offered an incentive for participating in the workshops in the form of a weekend in the Vall de Núria resort including accommodation and activities (ski passes, an archery class or a trip with snow shoes), enabling travel agents to discover the destination at first hand.

The Patronat de Turisme participated in the Active-Nature and Snow Workshop 2010 to publicise the general range of tourism products (ski resorts of the Girona area, natural areas, cultural trails, greenways, hiking, cycle tourism, mountain biking, gastronomy, traditions, etc.) and services of the Pirineu de Girona destination. Various tourism bodies and companies from the Girona area also took part in the initiative: Solineu Hotels, Petits Grans Hotels de Catalunya, La Molina, Campus Cerdanya and Vall de Núria-Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government Railways).
