The Patronat de Turisme takes part in the Turismo.as tourism and technology forum, devoted to social media and brand communication, to talk about its experience in the tourism 2.0 environment.

MARCH 2014

On 13th April the Patronat de Turisme took part for the first time in Turismo.as, the International Tourism and Technology Forum, now in its third year, which was held from 12th to 14th April in Oviedo and which focused on the importance of the social media for the tourism sector and in communicating the Spain brand abroad. The forum was attended by more than 300 professionals from the tourism and technology sector and was split into three parts: an entrepreneurs' day, a day devoted to autonomous communities, and a day for Turismo.as round-table discussions.

The Patronat de Turisme, representing the Costa Brava (the only non-autonomous tourist destination to be invited), participated in the forum on the day devoted to autonomous communities, joined by representatives of the communities of Murcia, Cantabria, the Principality of Asturias, Aragon and Castile-La Mancha. A think tank session took place that focused on destination information, the use of social media and the relationship with users and potential customers.

The Patronat de Turisme gave a talk on how to communicate with today's visitors using Web 2.0 tools and how to complete the online sale process, including the planning and booking of their trip.
