Updating of the Costa Brava Wikipedia profile in Catalan and Spanish and creation of the Pirineu de Girona profile.

As part of its Internet and social network positioning strategy (e-marketing), the Patronat de Turisme is focusing on the creation of high quality online content to contribute to raising the profile of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona brands.

By updating and adding to the Costa Brava Wikipedia profile in Catalan and Spanish, and creating the Pirineu de Girona profile, the Patronat de Turisme has taken a step forwards in terms of building brand identity and increasing online presence, while offering a greater amount of information to online users wishing to find out about the destination.

Thanks to the use of thorough encyclopaedic criteria and a team of professionals from several different fields, the Patronat de Turisme has made changes to the profiles. The profile photographs have also been changed or added to improve its image and provide it with more content.

The Patronat de Turisme is also collaborating with the Catalan Wikipedia channel by supporting the Wikilovesmonuments international public photo contest. This contest encourages users to upload images of the Costa Brava throughout September. In October the contest jury will announce the winners, who will be offered a free weekend break in the area by the Patronat de Turisme.
