Promotional events for influencers: journalists and bloggers

26 journalists and three bloggers from the US, Russia and England visit the destination

A total of seven events to promote the Costa Brava and Girona were held in June, hosting 29 influencers from international markets who had the opportunity to discover the destination from a number of different angles. The professional press trips included two events attended by Russian print, digital and televised media: four producers from the Ultro Russia programme on the country’s state-owned Russia 1 channel were joined by five journalists and travel agents on one trip, while a second was attended by professionals from the Mercats del Món (World Markets) programme on the Moya Planeta tourism channel. Several British media influencers also had the opportunity to discover the range of tourism options in the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees through a programme of hiking and cycling activities that included the product commercialised by tour operator Explore Catalonia. An editor of swimming magazine H2Open also had a chance to experience the Vies Braves first-hand. Finally, writer Patricia Schultz from New York had the opportunity to explore the destination’s culture and cuisine. Two writers for the American travel blog Forget Someday participated in a blogtrip that showcased the Costa Brava’s food and wine, culture, nature and active tourism. With a similar itinerary, Italian blogger Silvia Carotto and author of the The girl with a suitcase blog also had the opportunity to explore the destination.
