Promotional activities for influencers

Nine bloggers, ten journalists and eleven tour operators participated in twelve events designed to promote the region


APRIL 2016

A total of thirty influencers visited the province of Girona in March to promote several aspects of Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destinations at a national and international level. A number of press trips were organised for journalists from renowned English-language magazines National Geographic Traveler and Lifestyle and an editor from the French Le Petit Futé travel guide, on assignment to write up the first guide to the Coast Brava and Girona Pyrenees for the guide. Two activities designed to promote tourism in the Pyrenees and targeted at the Dutch and Asian markets were also held. Finally, several German food journalists visited the destination to discover different Catalan products and Mediterranean cuisine. Nine bloggers on different subjects also visited the destination to create new content: cook and Italian blogger Chiara Maci focused on culinary experiences; blogger Juliet Eliott participated in active tourism and cycling in the region, and Catalan Meritxell García focused on cultural tourism and festivals by attending the opening of the Black Music Festival. Videomaker Emiliano Becchi visited the region to work on a new project, and the creators of the German travel blog Freibeuter-Reisen also toured the area. Two fam trips for the American market were organised to close out the month. One trip was designed for Travalliance agents and focused on luxury tourism, while the other was for the Native Walks cultural tourism agency.
