Tailored programmes for 23 journalists from France, Ireland, Germany, Russia and the United States to introduce them to the destination

Five Irish journalists from leading newspapers The Irish Sun, Sunday Independent, Cork Independent Newspaper and The Senior Times visited the Costa Brava on press trips with a cultural and gastronomic theme. A group of French journalists also learned about the tourist and gastronomic attractions of the Baix Empordà on a press trip organised by the County Council with the support of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board. Three European golf correspondents and eight Russian journalists took part later in the month in press trips to Girona province based on golf and health and beauty tourism, respectively. The Board also provided personal assistance for a journalist from ViaMichelin.fr visiting the northern Costa Brava, and an American journalist visiting the area to research an article for Brussels Airlines. All these press visits were organised with the support of tourist organisations and companies in Girona province, with help from specialised professionals in each area.
