Facebook and Twitter Campaign

The "I like the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona!" campaign energises and increases the number of users on the social networks of the Patronat.


MARCH 2014

In June, the Patronat de Turisme launched a one-year campaign to energise the communities that it currently operates on Facebook and Twitter, which boast an aggregate audience of 34,200 users distributed as follows:

  • Costa Brava Pirineu de Girona (page in Catalan and Spanish) +24,000 "likes" on Facebook and +4.500 on Twitter.
  • Visit Costa Brava (page in English) +3.000 "likes" on Facebook and +2,800 on Twitter.

The "I like the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona!" campaign is aimed at users and followers of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona profiles on Facebook and Twitter, and consists of offering prizes and gifts to users who participate actively in the initiatives launched by the Patronat in these networks. The campaign enables local tourism companies to promote themselves directly in the social spaces operated by the Patronat de Turisme through various attractive promotions and competitions.

The Facebook campaign is designed to run on a weekly basis, offering direct gifts for participants in the weekly activity, which is always linked to one or more tourism companies from the area, with club members taking preference. The type of prizes on offer include: stays in tourism accommodation; meals in restaurants; leisure, sport and adventure activities; free entry to museums; guided tours; gifts and products, etc.

The main goal of this initiative is to promote the destination locally, nationally and internationally by offering local products, while at the same time increasing the amount of traffic towards the participating companies and raising their profile among the community of online users.
