APRIL 2024

The 2024 cruise season began on 1 April at the Port of Palamós, with a call by the cruise ship Viking Saturn, with 900 passengers. The season is expected to last for 8 months, with 52 cruise calls and 51,500 passengers. This year, there will be four maiden cruise calls (Silver Ray, Spirit of Discovery, Viking Saturn and Viking Sea) and just under six out of every ten vessels will dock during the low season. The Port of Roses will start the season on 1 May and nine cruise ships have been scheduled to call.

61 cruise ships carrying 53,000 passengers are expected to stop at ports of call on the Costa Brava during the 2024 cruise season. In percent, forecast growth is 1.3% in the number of passengers and 15% in the number of cruise calls compared with the 2023 season.

Coinciding with the commencement of the cruise season, from 8 to 11 April, representatives of the Costa Brava Cruise Ports brand took part in the world's biggest cruise show, the Seatrade Cruise Global, in Miami, Florida (United States), with the goal of attracting prospective cruise customers to ports on the coast of the Costa Brava. Within the framework of this international forum, meetings were held with the managers of the cruise companies Azamara, Silversea, Ponant, Marella Cruises, Crystal Cruises and Explora Journeys, and also with the cruise agents BC Tours, Pérez y Cía. or Intercruises, among others.
