Visitors were eager to find out more about the latest developments regarding the tourism offerings in 2025 aimed at the Spanish market.
Madrid hosted the 45th International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) from 22nd to 26th January, with the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board participating together with the municipalities of Blanes and Lloret de Mar at the Catalonia booth. The organisation had a space where it promoted the entire range of tourism on offer on the Costa Brava and in the Girona Pyrenees to industry professionals and visitors, as well as new tourism products and services for the 2025 season, including commemorations, new high-end hospitality establishments, facility openings and renovations, as well as new proposals and experiences related to food and wine, wellness and existing nature activities at the destination, all aimed at the local Spanish market.
Over the course of the three days of the event that were aimed exclusively at industry professionals, the participants from Girona had around 40 meetings and encounters scheduled with representatives from international travel agencies (Jet2holidays, ANEX Tour, TUI Group, DER Touristik, Voyage Privé and Viajes El Corte Inglés), travel portals and search engines (eDreams, Lastminute, Kayak, HolidayCheck and Destinia), media and publishing groups (RBA, Condé Nast, Desnivel, Solo Nieve) and event organisers with the aim of establishing contacts and analysing new collaboration projects.
Presentations for the occasion included the project of the viscountcy of Cabrera, by La Selva Regional Council; the awarding of the "Catalonia, Hello Family!" recognitions to the Girona municipalities of Lloret de Mar, Sant Pere Pescador and Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i s'Agaró by the Catalan Tourist Agency, and also the presentation of the programme for the "World Region of Gastronomy 2025" event, organised by the Catalan Tourist Agency.
