The Costa Brava boasts 38 blue flags.
In the 2023 season the Costa Brava’s beaches have been awarded 28 blue flags –two more than last year– in recognition of the quality of their waters and bathing areas. Girona’s ports and marinas have obtained ten –one more than last year– of the awards presented during this campaign by the Foundation for Environmental Education.
The beaches in Girona that hold the blue flag seal of quality this summer are Grifeu and Port de Llançà (Llançà), El Port de la Selva, Empuriabrava (Castelló d’Empúries), Cala Montgó (Torroella de Montgrí), Tamariu, Llafranc and Canadell (Palafrugell), La Fosca (Palamós), Es Monestri, Sant Antoni, Torre Valentina and Can Cristus - Ses Torretes (Calonge and Sant Antoni), Cala Rovira, Platja Gran and Sa Conca (Platja d’Aro), Sant Pol and Sant Feliu (Sant Feliu de Guíxols), Mar Menuda and Platja Gran (Tossa de Mar), Cala Canyelles, Lloret, Sa Boadella, Santa Cristina and Fenals (Lloret de Mar) and Blanes, S’Abanell and Sant Francesc (Blanes).
The certified ports, marinas and yacht clubs are Club Nàutic Llançà, Club Nàutic Port de la Selva, Port Esportiu de Roses, Club Nàutic Estartit, Club Nàutic Aiguablava, Club Nàutic Costa Brava and Port Marina (Palamós), Club Nàutic Port d’Aro and Club de Vela Blanes.
