Blue Economy-Costa Brava seminar

Agents and professionals from the Catalan cruise ship and superyacht industry join forces to promote processes and measures to transform the sector and foster sustainability.

On 27 November, the Alàbriga Hotel & Home Suites in Sant Feliu de Guíxols hosted a seminar on sustainability entitled ‘Economic and social impact and the blue economy in cruise ships and superyachts’. The event was organised by Costa Brava Cruise Ports and was aimed at agents and professionals directly and indirectly linked to the cruise ship and superyacht industry in Catalonia.

The seminar was attended by experts and executives from ports, marinas and shipping companies, who gave themed talks and took part in two round tables focusing on the blue and sustainable economy in cruise ships and destinations, as well as on the economic impact and new employment opportunities in superyacht sailing.

The meeting was followed by a networking session involving some 50 attendees and showed that the Catalan cruise ship and superyacht industry needs to take a step forward in its evolution in order to achieve steady development as a blue economy activity.
