The winter season is beginning in the Girona Pyrenees and the tourism sector is preparing to attract visitors to the mountain destinations with a diversified, improved and high-quality tourism offer aimed at different segments of the public.
The mountain destinations of Girona present new tourist proposals in Cerdanya and Ripollès, such as the Cerdanya Viewpoints Route, the Pyrenees Cerdanya Capcir Mountain Bike Guide, food and wine experiences and themed and Christmas markets in different Pyrenean municipalities, including Llívia, Ripoll and Camprodon, among others.
This 2024-2025 season, Girona's five ski resorts will benefit from improvements in access, digitisation, signposting and safety on the slopes. In addition, two major events will be taking place this year: the 25th anniversary of the Alp2500 domain, which includes La Molina and Masella, and the 50th anniversary of Vallter.
Among the new features, La Molina has installed new snow guns, added a new experience to the Christmas Park and remodelled the El Bosc restaurant. Masella has renovated and increased the performance of its snowmaking facilities, as well as refurbishing the skier service offices and the Pla de Masella cafeteria. As part of the Ecovall project, Vall de Núria has introduced the first 100% electric all-terrain vehicle. For its part, Vallter has expanded Les Marmotes cafeteria, which has been converted into a brasserie, and offers users a night-time snowcat experience. Lastly, the Guils Fontanera cross-country ski resort has improved the signposting of routes and its equipment rental service.
The Cerdanya and Ripollès alpine ski resorts have invested €6.4 million to improve snowmaking efficiency, among other things.
With the start of the winter season, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board is promoting the Girona Pyrenees brand and rolling out a specific action plan with marketing, promotional and communication strategies.
