Wine tourism in the Costa Brava
Almost 15,000 wine tourists visited the wineries of the DO Empordà wine route between June and September.

The 26 wineries belonging to the DO Empordà Wine Route, organised by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, received 14,694 visitors from June to September 2014, the period covering the high season for tourists and the start of the grape harvest. The activities for which there was greatest demand included guided tours of wineries with tasting sessions; visits to wineries combined with events such as concerts, workshops or dinners; kayak or catamaran excursions with wine tastings; and bicycle tours of vineyards. The largest number of tourists came from Catalonia, followed by France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
