Wikiloc Channel
The Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona portal will incorporate the Wikiloc.com channel to promote the area and its active tourism activities through the use of georeferenced trails.

The Patronat de Turisme and the Girona-based company Wikiloc Outdoor S.L, which owns and manages the Wikiloc.com portal, will soon undertake the project to implement the Wikiloc of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona, enabling the promotion of the counties of Girona through the use of georeferenced trails. This channel provides users and visitors to the destination with a new service, a new way of discovering the activities of the Girona destination that fosters active tourism.
Wikiloc.com is a Girona website that displays georeferenced trails created and shared by users all over the world. It provides communities with the possibility of creating and representing their own georeferenced trails, split into different categories and themes, while showing points of interest of the area. The tool makes it possible to view the trails in different cartographic formats and in 3D in Google Earth, to download routes onto GPS devices, and to obtain additional trail information such as the height profile, distance covered, accumulated altitude gain and loss, and degree of difficulty, among other things. Furthermore, users can add comments and receive alerts, add additional information such as attachments (pdf), view the points of interest layer and incorporate trail photos and videos.
