Collaboration in sports competitions and international cultural events

Girona’s cultural and sporting activities expanded in April, when a wide range of events with a clear international flavour attracted visitors to the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona destinations outside the high season. In April the Tourist Board participated in sporting events and presentations such as the MIC 2014; the Ultrafons Volta de Cerdanya mountain race; the Costa Brava Basketball Cup and the Biciatló Solidària charity cycling event. It also gave support to cultural events such as the 2014 Girona Flower Festival; the Torroella de Montgrí Piano Festival, the Figueres Comics Festival; the Torroella de Montgrí Magic Fair and the recording of a medium-length film about the legend of Saint George. The Tourist Board supports the development of direct actions in the region: management, promotional and financing initiatives that foster communication and improve relations between the counties and entrepreneurs in the tourism sector.
