Increased portal visitor traffic

The number of visits to the official portal of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona has increased by 79% in respect of of the same period in 2010, while the number of new visits has grown by 16%.

The significant increase in the number of visits to the official portal of the tourism offer of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona continued throughout April, giving a total of 166,144 visits and 572,725 viewed pages. These visits have mainly come from Spain and France and there has been a significant recovery in visits made from the UK, Italy and Germany. Furthermore, a figure of 89% was recorded for new visits, representing an increase of 16% in respect of the same period in 2010.

As regards traffic sources, visits to the portal are mainly through search engines (47%), followed by reference websites (39%). However, a significant number of visits (15%) are direct traffic, i.e. users enter the portal address directly in their browser. Furthermore, the most frequently used keywords for finding the portal in search engines are “Costa Brava”, followed by “Festival Cap Roig 2011” “Costa Brava turismo” and “Cap de Creus”.

In comparison with April 2010, an increase of 78.94% has been recorded this year in the number of visits, rising from 92,848 in 2010 to 166,144 this year, along with a 15.83% increase in new visits.
