The 15th PWA World Windsurfing Tour - Catalonia Costa Brava Grand Prix 2013, a slalom event, took place from 11th to 16th June in the waters of the Gulf of Roses. 64 windsurfers from over 30 countries competed.

The PWA World Windsurfing Tour - Catalonia Costa Brava Grand Prix is a showcase event for the nautical sports that contribute to boosting the local economy and tourism, as well as to raising the international profile of the Costa Brava as one of the Europe’s top destinations for the sport.

The opening press conference was attended by the President of Girona Provincial Council and of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, Joan Giraut; the Secretary General for Sport of the Government of Catalonia, Ivan Tibau; the Mayor of Sant Pere Pescador, Jordi Martí; the manager of the campsite La Ballena Alegre, Àlex Trias; the director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Hernán Vázquez; the organiser of the PWA World Windsurfing Tour, Panxo Pi-Suñer; and mayors and councillors of the other towns in Roses Bay.

The winner of the Catalonia Costa Brava Grand Prix was the French windsurfer Antoine Albeau. As in previous years, Spain’s leading windsurfing festival, the Surf Alegre, was held in parallel to the PWA World Tour, featuring a fair selling windsurfing material and a Volkswagen camper van gathering.
