Catalan Tourist Agency Awards
The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board received the award in the category of "Innovation" for its promotion of the TBEX Costa Brava Catalonia conference

As part of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the Government of Catalonia, through the Catalan Tourism Agency, celebrated the 2016 Catalan Tourism awards on 27 September at a ceremony attended by 900 people. These awards are granted to tourism projects that help enhance the resources and assets in Catalonia through new experiences for consumers or that are made in a responsible and innovative way. The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board received the award in the “Innovation” category for twice being the main promoter of the “TBEX Costa Brava – Catalonia” world congress for travel bloggers, which drew in 800 international participants in 2012 and 2015. The jury, made up of members of the Board of the Tourism Bureau, also wanted to spotlight other projects that were finalists in each of their categories: the Campings Experience for the “Best Tourist Experience” and the Ter Route (from the Ter Consortium) for “Responsible Tourism”.
