Association initiatives and cooperation in the sector
World Tourism Day, the annual assembly of the Association of Campsites of Girona and the 9th annual meeting of the Apartment Tourism Association bring together tourism professionals from the Girona tourism sector.

The Girona tourism sector celebrated World Tourism Day with a meeting in the Castle of Biart de Masarac on the 27th September, bringing together representatives of tourism bodies, organisations and companies. Celebrations and talks were held over the course of a day that ended with a gala dinner for attendees.
The following day, 28th September, the Association of Campsites of Girona held its Ordinary General Assembly, attended by 60 of its members. The day began with a meeting between association members, followed by the association’s awards ceremony. The day was brought to a close with a talk.
Finally, on Thursday 30th September, the Apartment Tourism Association (ATA) held its 9th Annual Meeting at Hotel La Costa in Pals. The aim of this meeting is to bring together members once a year to exchange views and consolidate the association. The meeting includes a talk and presentation, and the awarding of the association’s “Costa Brava Sun” prize to Josep Company i Molar, one of the founders of the association and a member from 1993 to 2009.
The President of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona, Enric Vilert, and the Director of the Patronat, Dolors Batallé, attend and participate in all three meetings, which bring together tourism sector businesspeople and representatives of tourism bodies and public/private organisations.
The Patronat is keen to promote business associations and public/private cooperation in order to increase the competitiveness and quality of the tourism destination, setting common goals.
