Autumn is here and the winter season is just around the corner. The Patronat de Turisme has taken part in the celebration of World Tourism Day. This special day has given it the opportunity to meet up with public agents and tourism professionals from the Girona area to exchange opinions on the summer season, now that it has drawn to a close, and to make an informal appraisal of feelings and moods. In September, the Patronat de Turisme has intensified its activity, strengthening its presence in the media and social networks through the organisation of the first Pirineu de Girona international blogtrip. It has also prepared a training day entitled "Innovation in tourism companies: structuring, communication and marketing" with the goal of encouraging the sector to remain committed to innovation and continuous training. Several journalists and travel agents have visited the area on press and familiarisation trips, contributing to boosting the international profile of the destinations.
World Tourism Day brings together 200 representatives from bodies, organisations and companies of the Girona tourism industry for a day of celebration.
Thirty-two journalists from France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, the Czech Republic and several regions of Spain visit the destination in eight press trips.
The Patronat has participated in promotional initiatives aimed at intermediary channels that operate internationally and has organised a familiarisation trip to the destination for Irish agents.
Ten top international bloggers take part in the first Pirineu de Girona international blogtrip.
On 25th October 2011 the Patronat de Turisme is holding its eighth training day, entitled "Innovation in tourism companies: structuring, communication and marketing".
