The month began with the inclusion of the Costa Brava destination in the list of the world's twenty best tourist destinations for 2012, published annually by National Geographic magazine. Meanwhile, with the winter season just around the corner, the Patronat de Turisme has focused on presenting and promoting the tourism products and services of Girona's five ski resorts for the 2011-2012 season, along with the general tourism offer of the Pirineu de Girona, among potential visitors and tourism professionals from the local area. As regards Web 2.0 tourism, the Patronat de Turisme is also making steady progress through the incorporation of a car rental booking engine on its portal and the training of tourism professionals from the Girona area in workshops on new technologies.
