With the summer season just around the corner, the Patronat de Turisme has publicly presented the results of the Strategic Tourism Plan of the counties of Girona for the next five years to the tourism sector, explaining how the guidelines listed by the Plan in its programmes are being fulfilled through a series of completed and planned initiatives. This month the 13th Catalonia Costa Brava Grand Prix of the World Windsurfing Championship has taken place, proving a great success, along with the 5th Torroella de Montgrí Comic Festival, at which a presentation was made of a newly created prize, the Costa Brava International Prize for Comics. Other initiatives have also been implemented with the aim of raising the profile of the tourism brands and products of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona destinations.
The new 2011-2015 Strategic Tourism Plan of the counties of Girona is committed to boosting the prestige of the area. An important feature is the international recognition of the Costa Brava brand.
