The publication of the first summer tourist occupation figures in the province of Girona reveals a slight decrease in the number of tourists and overnight stays in comparison with the corresponding period last year. However, the Girona-Costa Brava Airport has seen an increase in the number of passengers and flights and has exceeded the figure of a million passengers in seven months.
This summer, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board has continued to participate in promotional events in the UK and the Czech Republic, to organise trips for opinion leaders and to publish new promotional material for visitors, among its other activities.
Tourist occupation figures
In the months of July and August, the province of Girona’s tourist sector recorded slightly lower occupation figures than the summer of 2017, although foreign tourist expenditure increased for the same period.
