The peak of the tourist season saw the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board welcome its new Executive Committee and focus on promoting the destination at a series of trade fairs aimed at end consumers. The Board also promoted the wide range of products and services offered by Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destinations this season through both traditional and social media as well as at co-marketing events with tour operators and airlines. Internally, the organisation used the new Tourism Data system to collect information on the region’s tourist occupancy rates and began planning the promotional events scheduled for autumn.
Pere Vila, president of the Girona City Council, Marta Philip, Executive Vice President of the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, and James Dulsat, Vice President of the Board, will chair Girona’s main tourism promotion organisation for the 2015-2018 period.
