Music fills every corner of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona. On the occasion of the Centenary, the Patronat is taking the opportunity to support summer festivals in the area. It is also stimulating new projects and encouraging the sector to move with the times.
The summer schedule of music, theatre and dance festivals liven up evenings and nights in the towns of the Pirineu de Girona. Residents and visitors can enjoy performances suitable for the whole family.
The prestigious San Sebastian Jazz Festival took place from 22nd to 26th July in Plaza de la Trinidad and on the terraces of the Kursaal Centre. This year “Catalonia-Costa Brava” was invited as a guest country.
The Patronat de Turisme has joined the social networks Facebook and Tripadvisor in order to communicate with end customers through competitions, debates and blogs, starting from 10th July.
The collaboration initiatives established between private and public tourism associations and organisations from the Girona area improve and stimulate the sector in the counties of Girona.
The gastronomy of the Costa Brava is promoted in Catalonia through a radio campaign, and in the rest of Spain and abroad with an initiative in eight night train restaurants of the Renfe and Elipsos rail companies.
The extraordinary concert Visions of the Mediterranean. Costa Brava Centenary brings together almost 400 well-known figures from politics, culture and society for an enjoyable festive event.
With the initial production of red wine sold out, the sommeliers of the Empordà DO decide to award the “Centenary Wine” label to the Cadac wine, by the Martín Faixó Winery in Perafita, considered a top quality product.
L’Escala hosts two photographic exhibitions in July and August which commemorate the Centenary by showing the people and the scenic and natural values of the Girona coastline.
