The Costa Brava has officially joined Facebook and already has more than 13,000 fans. The landscape, culture, traditions and gastronomy of the Costa Brava have found an ally in new information technologies, which will also enable experiences to be shared. The Patronat is looking forward to this challenge.
The Costa Brava Pirineu de Girona Facebook group has registered more than 13,000 members in just 40 days of operation and has already amassed more fans than other pages of Spanish and international destinations that have been up and running for longer.
The Patronat is organising five press trips to promote the Costa Brava’s “health and beauty” and “culture” products in the Spanish and Benelux markets.
There has been a 10.83% increase in the number of people assisted at the Girona – Costa Brava Airport Tourism Office between March and June in respect of the previous year. 108,859 people have been assisted in the first half of 2009.

In the summer, the towns of the Costa Brava are buzzing with activity. Fairs, sports activities and shows are organised. This year, many of them have wished to be associated with the Centenary. The Patronat has taken this opportunity to promote the Centenary.
Many well-known figures from politics, culture, fashion and motor sport celebrate the Centenary of the Costa Brava with the Centenary Menu in a festive event held in Castell-Platja d’Aro.
