Wine tourism in the Costa Brava

The DO Empordà wine route joins ACEVIN and raises its profile in the rest of Spain.

SEPTEMBER 2014

The DO Empordà wine route, managed by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, has become a member of the Wine Routes of Spain Product Club, sponsored by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN) and Turespaña, after having successfully completed the organisation's audit and certification process over the last few months. Membership of ACEVIN will help the Route's wine organisations and companies to promote and market themselves and raise their international profile. The Association is composed of 23 wine tourism regions across Spain, including Ribera del Duero, Rías Baixas, Rueda, Somontano, Txacolí, Jumilla, El Bierzo, Marco de Jerez, Rioja Alavesa, Navarra, El Penedès and Lleida - Costers del Segre. The DO Empordà wine route was created in September 2012 and has 87 affiliated wine tourism organisations and companies in the Costa Brava area.
