Training workshops

Eighty professionals from the tourism sector attend workshops led by Jimmy Pons, entitled "Destination management" and "Content generation".

MARCH 2014

As part of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona training programme aimed at the tourism sector, and as a follow-up to the 8th Training Day held in October, entitled "Innovation in tourism companies", two specific training workshops have been held in November, led by Jimmy Pons, the tourism innovation expert.

The "Destination management" workshop took place on 8th November and looked at strategies to optimise the promotion and management of the destination through creativity and differentiation, using innovative promotional strategies to foster customer loyalty and marketing in social media. This workshop was attended by 30 professionals, mainly from the hotel accommodation and rural establishment sub-sector, along with tourism technicians.

The "Content generation" workshop, held on 23rd November, provided tools to facilitate the generation of content at a time when an online presence is essential: website, Twitter account, Facebook page, blogs, etc. Knowing how to generate content is the key to meeting this challenge and the workshop showed how to position products or brands correctly on the Internet through the marketing of content. The fifty participants who attended the training session included professionals from hotels, campsites, apartments, the rural tourism sector, associations, consultancies, real estate agencies, active tourism companies, county council technicians and municipal tourism boards.
