Training workshops

85 tourism sector professionals take part in two training workshops: one on SEO and SEM and another on geolocation and social networks.

Continuing with the training programme of the Patronat de Turisme, two workshops and several courses were held in April to foster the continuous training of professionals in the sector.

17th April, SEO and SEM workshop, led by Johana Cavalcanti, a consultant with the IORscore firm. This workshop, attended by 35 tourism professionals, showed how to rank tourism portals and carry out search engine marketing with the goal of improving the natural ranking of websites in search engines (SEO - search engine optimisation) and generating traffic through sponsored link campaigns (SEM - search engine marketing).

24th April, Geolocation and social networks workshop led by Gersón Beltrán, managing director of Geoturismo, a company dedicated to geography, tourism and communication. This workshop was aimed at discovering what users do on tourism websites, a crucial aspect in order to be able to improve the results of any company. This workshop aimed to guide those interested in knowing how to install the Google Analytics tool in their own website, how to understand which data offered by the tool is the most important and what it means. It also showed how to filter profiles in order to be able to analyse visit channels quickly. 50 professionals attended this workshop.
