Trade fairs

The tourist attractions of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona showcased at three trade fairs.

The Costa Brava’s Nature and Active Tourism Club and the L’Estartit-Illes Medes Marine Resort were represented the Catalonia stand at the Fiets Wanderbeurs in Amsterdam by a number of the club’s member bodies and companies. They attracted growing interest from the Dutch public in the opportunities for watersports, cycling and walking in Girona province. The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board and the Girona Vies Verdes Consortium also participated in the second Girocamping fair in Girona, held from 6 to 9 March, with a dedicated space offering information on the province. The Tourism Board’s activities at the trade fair also included organising a network to bring together Girona’s campsites and the activity companies in the Nature and Active Tourism Club. Representatives of the Tourism Board also took part in the presentation of the Camping Experience pack and attended the official dinner of the Girona Campsites Association, at which the first Jaume Genover Award was presented to Josep Suñé, owner of the Les Dunes and l’Escala campsites. Finally, from 20 to 23 March, the tourist attractions of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona were on display at the Turespaña stand at the Salon Mondial de Tourisme in Paris. Visitors to the show, mainly families and senior citizens, were principally interested in coastal destinations such as Roses, Empuriabrava and Lloret de Mar, but Girona is also of interest. They mainly requested information on accommodation, gastronomy, cultural activities and active tourism.
