Spring Fair in Narbonne

Twenty-six tourism bodies and companies take part in the French fair

MARCH 2014

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board took part in the Spring Fair held in the French city of Narbonne from 8th to 12th May with an area dedicated to tourism and gastronomy filled by 26 tourism organisations and companies from the Girona area. Visitors to the space were invited to sample food products, DO Empordà wines, craft beers and cava. Complementary cultural activities were also organised, such as performances of mediaeval music, along with health and beauty treatments and a cycling circuit organised by the Girona Greenways Consortium.

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board took part in the fair for the first time with the goal of promoting the tourism products of the Girona area in a city in the south of France that is linked by high-speed rail to Figueres and Girona. The music festivals of the Costa Brava and the Pirineu de Girona, the city of Girona, the Temps de Flors flower exhibition, nature and nautical activities, food and wine tourism, Dalí, golf, and health and beauty were some of the specific products promoted at the fair.

This initiative forms part of a collaboration agreement between Girona Provincial Council and the Communauté d’agglomération Le Grand Narbonne on cultural and tourism promotion, aimed at exploiting the synergies between the two institutions.
