Promotions on social networks

The Tourist Board's social network channels organise competitions and campaigns for users

In July the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board and the organisers of the Sons del Món (Sounds of the World) Festival 2013 organised and promoted a new photography competition on Instagram, entitled #RutaViDOEmporda, with the goal of publicising the DO Empordà Wine Route and the festival, and with a view to attracting potential visitors to the destination. Between 27th June and 23rd July, 271 users of the Instagram social network and followers of the @costabravapirineu profile published 369 photographs with the hashtags #RutaViDOEmporda, #InCostaBrava and #SonsdelMon. It is estimated that the competition achieved an impact of 24,985 Instagram network users and 11,068 likes.

Over the course of the competition five prizes were given out, consisting of a pair of tickets to the soundcheck and concert of Blaumut and Joan Dausà (5th July), Sílvia Pérez Cruz (6th July), Manel (13th July), Carlos Núñez (20th July) and Luz Casal (27th July). All the photographs entered into the competition, published with the hashtag #RutaViDOEmporda, can be viewed at http://statigr.am/tag/rutavidoemporda.

Meanwhile, from 22nd July to 11th August, Movistar and the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board held a summer campaign under the slogan "Your summer #incostabrava", which consisted of inviting followers of the @movistar_es and @costabravapirineu Instagram profiles to publish and share original, fun and holiday-related photographs of the destination. Prizes included introductory diving lessons, offered by members of the Nature and Active Tourism Club of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona.
