Promotion of the Wine Route in the USA

The wines of the D.O. Empordà Wine Route are the protagonists of the American Wine Society’s annual conference, held in Pennsylvania, in the United States.

On the 4^th and 5^th of November, the wines of the D.O. Empordà Wine Route were the protagonists of the American Wine Society’s 50^th annual conference, held at Pocono Manor, in Pennsylvania. A total of 280 people took part in the two Empordà wine tasting sessions organized within the framework of the conference, which brought together the members of one of the leading wine associations in the United States, with over 8,000 associates, comprising wine lovers, opinion leaders and US wine producers. The thematic wine tastings were hosted by Audrey Doré, the sommelier at El Celler de Can Roca, and elected best sommelier in Catalonia 2017. This was one of the most important promotions of Empordà wines to be carried out in the United States to date. The event forms part of the joint strategy implemented by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board and the D.O. Empordà Regulatory Council to launch the Empordà region and its wines on the US market.
