65 influencers visit the Girona area

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board organised 13 visit and activity programmes aimed at raising the profile of the destinations in the Girona area and their tourism offering. 17 journalists from Spain and abroad, together with 50 travel agents, visited destinations, establishments and companies in the Girona area.

As regards press trips, a journalist from Traveller magazine took the high-speed train from Madrid to Alt Empordà to write a feature on the wine harvest, and the British journalist Natasha Blair visited the destination to explore the culture and gastronomy of the Costa Brava, along with the Jewish legacy of Girona.

Meanwhile, eight journalists from French media outlets, including Le Cycle, Le Progrès (Lyon), La Voix du Nord, VSD, Santé Sport Mag and I-Voyages, completed a specific active tourism programme in the destination through which they discovered at first hand a series of companies and the wide range of activities organised for visitors. Two Swiss journalists visited the counties of Garrotxa, Ripollès and Alt Empordà to write a feature on hiking activities for the magazine Wanderen.

Turning to familiarisation trips, a group of five English golf travel professionals visited courses in the destination to evaluate facilities, equipment and complementary services. Furthermore, British tour operators including Winetrails, Ramblers and Naturetrek visited the counties of Garrotxa, Alt Empordà and Gironès, where they completed a comprehensive programme of sports and active tourism activities. French travel agents from the general travel wholesaler Voyageurs du Monde and the business tourism agency Partance visited the destination to find out about specific tourism products. Meanwhile, 20 managers and salespeople from travel agencies in Kazakhstan visited Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar to explore the destinations. Last of all, several Spanish and British MICE travel agencies visited a series of venues, companies and service providers, all members of the Costa Brava Girona Convention Bureau.
