New tourism guidebook: Girona Costa Brava

The book serves as a dynamic, practical and updated guide to the natural, heritage, cultural and tourism attractions of the destination.

MARCH 2014

Girona Costa Brava, published by Triangle Postals, is a compact illustrated guidebook that includes a fold-out map, texts and high quality photographs. It is a follow-up to another guidebook published in 2010, entitled Coastal footpaths. Crossing the Costa Brava, published by the same publishing house, with the support and collaboration of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona.

The guide is split into themed chapters featuring fishing towns, coves and beaches along different stretches of the coastline (4 separate stretches from the north to the south of the Costa Brava), the six natural parks situated in the Girona area, themed routes and trails (city of Girona, archaeology, modernism, Salvador Dalí, mediaeval towns, artisans and industry, with some references to inland areas and the Pirineu de Girona), family leisure and adventure (nautical activities, water parks or adventure centres, diving, cruise boat trips along the coast, cycle touring and mountain biking, horse riding, skiing, golf, aerial activities and crossing the Costa Brava along coastal footpaths). The book includes references to museums and art centres, local gastronomy and wineries, festivals, traditions and important events of cultural interest that take place in the area throughout the year. It also includes an accommodation and restaurant guide and offers readers advice, practical recommendations and interesting anecdotes.

The 205 page guidebook, with texts by Sebastià Roig and photographs by Jordi Puig, is available in six languages (Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian and Russian) and includes a 1:140,000 scale fold-out map of the area's topography, roads and population centres.
