On Saturday 30th March a gathering and competition for Instagramers, entitled "Instagram your city", InstaHostalric, took place in Hostalric, coinciding with the 17th Mediaeval Fair.

The third gathering and competition for Instagramers organised by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, with the support of Hostalric Town Council, brought together 50 Instagramers over the course of Saturday morning and midday.


The participants were given a guided tour of various landmarks of the city, such as the Domus Sent Soví, the Torre dels Frares (Monks' Tower), Plaça dels Bous, Carrer Major, the fortress, the walled precinct and the Ararà tower. The final stop of the tour was Plaça dels Bous.

Using the hashtags #InstaHostalric and #InCostaBrava, users could participate and follow the activity on the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona social networks, as well as through Instagramers Girona.

The prizewinners in the various categories will be published on Monday 2nd April on the Instagram channel @costabravapirineu with the hashtag #InstaGirona #InPyrenees. The prizes are stays and meals in Hostalric.

The next gathering will be on 27th April in Palafrugell, coinciding with its Flowers and Violas Festival.

"Instagram your City" is a new activity launched by the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board with the goal of publicising and communicating the tourist attractions of the tourism towns of the Costa Brava and Pirineu de Girona destination on social networks. From May onwards, Instagram gatherings will be taking place almost on a weekly basis. Several towns and cities in the Girona area will be hosting the activity this year, including Figueres, L’Escala, Besalú, Cassà de la Selva, Cadaqués, Setcases, Lloret de Mar, Banyoles, Tossa de Mar, Begur, Castelló d’Empúries, Portbou, Roses, Santa Coloma de Farners, Blanes, Vall d’en Bas, Palamós, el Port de la Selva, Caldes de Malavella, Sils, Arbúcies, Sant Hilari Sacalm, Castell-Platja d’Aro, Llançà and Vilajuïga.
