The innovative third campaign organised new contests for Instagram users

FOTO: PERE DURAN The themed Instagram contests promoted by the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board will be held monthly to give users the opportunity to post a range of content related to a specific theme (wine tourism, natural parks, outdoor activities, music festivals, Jewish culture, etc.) using the hashtag indicated in the rules for each contest. “SelfieYourCity”, taking advantage of the new selfie trend that has hit social media, has proposed several contests for users. Following the indications of the participating municipalities, the submitted selfies must be taken in unique places and shared on Instagram. After the contest ends in December the selfies will be collected and geolocalised on an online map. In total, the 2013 and 2014 editions of the “Instagram Your City” campaign generated 52,635 new photos and 2,950,348 social media impacts. More information at http://instagram.costabrava.org.
